A heartfelt thank you from our CEO
We’re ecstatic to announce we’ve won the best international Climate Change & Environment Think Tank at UK magazine Prospect’s Think Tank Awards again in 2020. It is such an honour to end the year with our hard work recognised with this prestigious award.
For so many of us, this was the year in which resilience in the face of great uncertainty proved an important quality to aspire to. And yet for all that has challenged us at Beyond Zero Emissions, we’re proud to say that thanks to your support, 2020 was also the year of our greatest success.
The release of our Million Jobs Plan, backed by some of the country’s most influential leaders in business and politics, marked a high point in our 10-year history.
Our Plan opened conversations with powerful decision-makers, and to-date 27 state and federal government announcements have aligned with our recommendations and over $20 billion of investment directed towards lighthouse projects we identified as game-changers for the energy transition.
Here are just a few highlights from our year:
This year ended with some incredible large-scale renewable energy and energy efficiency announcements from governments around Australia.
And yet, there is much more to do. So with your continued support, we plan to use 2021 to supercharge our capacity to impact federal policy and capitalise on this unique position we’re now in to make transformational change.
Wishing you well over the holiday season!
